The all new 2013 Model range launched...

Ducati introduce the next generation of the Hypermotard family, taking the innovation and excitement of the original concept and enhancing it even further with three incredible new models: The thrilling Hypermotard, Hypermotard SP and the introduction of a stylish and accessible mid-range tourer with everyday practicality - The Hyperstrada. The new range combines Ducati's latest technologies with outstanding Italian design and engineering to write the latest chapter in the Hypermotard story.
The Hyperstrada model represents a completely new dimension for Hypermotard, with the innovative realisation of a unique model that is a "cross-over" between the worlds of motard and touring. This incredibly versatile motorcycle opens an exciting new road to explore and releases the full potential of this thrilling family. Its factory-equipped touring components present a comfortable and user-friendly travel companion with generous luggage capacity and the added security of ABS and DTC combined into the Ducati Safety Pack and fully integrated into the Sport (110hp - High), Touring (110hp - Medium) and Urban (75hp - Low) Riding Modes. Preparing the new model for the open road, Ducati has fitted a strong, lightweight and elegantly styled 50 litres of quickly-detachable side-luggage - and offers an extra 31 litre top case as an accessory - with a centre stand for stable parking when fully loaded. With handlebars raised by 20mm (0.78in), a touring screen provides improved wind protection and, with long journey comfort in mind, a special wider touring seat is fitted with thicker foam cushioning for both the rider and passenger and confidence inspiring passenger grab-handles. At 850mm (33.5in), the seat height offers sure-footed confidence when fully loaded with luggage and passenger, with the opportunity to lower it even further with a 20mm lower accessory seat. Two auxiliary 12v power outlets, intended to feed navigation accessories or heated clothing, complete the enhanced specification. The front suspension of the Hyperstrada uses 43mm Kayaba upside-down forks, with a stroke of 150mm (5.9in) and the rear suspension with single Sachs rear shock absorber providing 150mm (5.9in) of rear wheel travel with rebound damping and user-friendly remote hydraulic spring preload adjustment. The full touring trim tips the scales with a dry weight of 181kg (399lb) and rides on Pirelli Scorpion Trail tyres, mounted on 10-spoke 1199 Panigale-style cast aluminium wheels. The Hyperstrada is finished in Ducati red or a sophisticated arctic white against subtle racing grey Trellis frames
2013 Ducati 1199R The 2013 Ducati Superbike family line-up is now completed with the highly-anticipated arrival of the 1199 Panigale R, the absolute flagship of the range and the machine specially developed with enhanced technical specification by Ducati Corse for World Superbike homologation. The exciting “R” model stands alongside the 1199 Panigale and 1199 Panigale S in the new-for-2013 arctic white colour scheme and signature Ducati red, in addition to the exclusive 1199 Panigale S Tricolore. The “R” takes everything that the “S” model is currently equipped with and applies a list of enhancements to the technical specification that enable the model to achieve even greater targets. Titanium con-rods, which save an overall 0.63kg (1.38lb), a 0.7kg (1.54lb) lighter crankshaft flywheel, DLC-coated rocker-arms and revised engine mapping now enhance the Superquadro engine’s crank acceleration and allow it to rev 500rpm higher to a 12,000rpm limit, an incredible engineering achievement for 112mm pistons. The model also features a new 4-point adjustable swingarm pivot, designed to enable riders a personalised and precise set-up and a race kit consisting of high-penetration racing screen, fairing mirror caps in machined alloy and a full Termignoni exhaust system with dedicated ECU mapping (for track use only). The system provides an impressive power increase of 3% at the top of the rev-range and 15% in the mid-range. Additional enhancements to the machine include lightweight carbon fibre rear hugger, rear suspension guard, heels guards, ignition switch surround and top fairing inner panels and carbon fibre protectors for the single-sided swingarm and clutch cover. These lightweight chassis and engine components enable the “R” version a dry weight of just 165kg (363.7lb), even with an ABS braking system fitted as standard equipment. This top-of-the-range model is also fitted with a special race-style seat fabric for added “feel” and equipped with the GPS-enhanced Ducati Data Acquisition system, for automatic lap times and circuit map-linked data. The 1199 Panigale R is dressed in Ducati red with defining white race features, sporting a mix of red and brushed aluminium on the fuel tank with lightweight forged wheels by Marchesini in black.
2013 Diavel Strada A surprise entry for the Diavel family comes in the form of the new Diavel Strada. The sophisticated new model, specifically designed for longer journeys, has been factory-accessorised with touring-friendly components that enable all-day riding comfort for both rider and passenger. Further enhanced with touring comfort and functionality, the carefully designed screen blends effortlessly into the Diavel’s sleek lines to provide improved wind protection, and the rider’s posture is further improved for long-distance with higher handlebars swept back towards the rider and larger, comfort-enhancing seats with revised foam cushioning. The addition of heated grips further underlines the attention given to rider-friendly detail and the higher-output generator that powers them also provides for two handy auxiliary power outlets intended for heated clothing or navigation accessories. The passenger’s ride has also been improved with a ride-relaxing back-rest and confidence-inspiring grab-rails. The Diavel’s desire for touring practicality has been elegantly satisfied with stylishly shaped side luggage, fitted as standard equipment with revised passenger footpegs and rear lighting. The Diavel Strada arrives in an elegant race titanium colour scheme with racing black frame and black wheels and side luggage. In addition to their 2013 models, Ducati also took the occassion of the EICMA International Motorcycle Show to present its brand new A

The recently released 2013 Ducati Multistrada 1200 also made its first-ever public appearance, as did the brand new 1199 Panigale RS13, which is now ready to make its debut in the World Superbike series next year. Company CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio, and General Manager, Claudio Domenicali addressed the world's motorcycle press during a special conference held on the Italian manufacturer's stand at the massive biennial event. "Ducati has entered a new era," said Gabriele Del Torchio, CEO of Ducati. "Being part of such a prominent and significant group as Volkswagen makes us look to the future with confidence and optimism and we are very happy to be here at Intermot with so many new products to present. Despite today's severely shrinking market, Ducati continues to show positive growth, and since 2007 has consistently increased its market share and further strengthened its financial position. 2011 was a record year in the history of Ducati and we expect to continue our growth in 2012. Our 2013 motorcycles, such as the new Multistrada 1200, demonstrate the consistency of our development strategies and today I am especially proud to present our new Monster Anniversary, a celebration of the glorious history of this iconic model in the Ducati family." "Twenty years have passed since the presentation of our first Ducati Monster, right here at Intermot," said Claudio Domenicali, General Manager of Ducati Motor Holding, during the press conference. "This model redefined the parameters of the naked segment and our new Monster Anniversary is dressed in the original livery of that very first version and applied to the whole range of latest-generation Monsters. In addition to the Monster Anniversary, we have brought a number of interesting new products to Cologne. Our new Multistrada 1200 is an evolution of the 4-bikes-in-1 concept and now becomes even more versatile with the introduction of the revolutionary Ducati Skyhook Suspension system. The model also presents a new and improved Testastretta 11° DS engine, with enhanced power delivery and smoother operation, and a re-styled front-end with new LED lighting. We are also presenting brand new colour schemes for the Diavel and the Superbike 848 and 1199 Panigale and Ducatisti here in Cologne have the first chance to see the RS13 version of the 1199 Panigale, now available for teams to prepare their fight for the 2013 Superbike World Championship." First introduced in Cologne in 1992, the Monster family now reaches a milestone 20 years of production and Ducati celebrates the iconic naked with special 20th Anniversary editions of its latest 696, 796 and 1100EVO models. Standing proudly alongside the exclusive Monster Diesel, this bold range of lifestyle motorcycles are dressed in special liveries, revised colour finishes and character-forming features. The Diavel Dark in matte black with black-finished components and two "street-sport" schemes that introduce metallic blue or Ducati red with stylish white stripes, white wheels and special defining features. The 2013 Ducati Superbike family introduces arctic white versions of the exciting 1199 Panigale and 1199 Panigale S alongside the signature Ducati red, while the 1199 Panigale S Tricolore continues proudly as the flagship of the family. The highly successful 848EVO is available in the traditional colours of Ducati red* and dark stealth*, while the exclusive 848EVO Corse Special Edition, with a new-for-2013, lightweight, aluminium fuel tank, gets dressed in the stunning new Ducati Corse Test Team livery of matte black and matte grey. *Country specific The 2013 Ducati Multistrada family has its first public showing at Intermot and presents an innovative and technically advanced evolution of an already successful range. Restyled aesthetics, a brand new Granturismo model and the new Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) system, which provides confidence-inspiring, intelligent electronics, are just a few of the many enhancements that continue the Multistrada's excellent reputation. Ducati's highly anticipated 1199 Panigale RS13 also breaks cover for the first time at Intermot. The spectacular Ducati Corse prepared machine previews the full race version of the company's top-of-the range sportbike model, now ready and available for teams to prepare for competition in the 2013 World Superbike series. British rider Kev Coghlan made it onto the Superstock 1000 podium for the first time ever after a truly tough race at the Nurburgring. Throughout the season DMC Racing have been working really hard and the podium seemed to be just a question of time. Despite Coghlan admitting that the Nurburgring has never been his favorite track, the team found settings that were good enough to provide a confident weekend for the rider Scotland. In the race a group of four at the front had pulled out a significant gap, and it looked as if the podium places were to be contested between Barrier, Staring, Guarnoni and La Marra. However one by one, three of the leading pack lost grip and crashed out, starting with La Marra. While the others fell by the wayside, Kev managed to keep it on the black stuff to finish a fantastic second. "The last time I was here was in World Supersport back in 2009 with the Holiday Gym Racing Team," said Coghlan. "In the race I had been trying to put in fast consistent laps to break away from the following pack. La Marra had already fallen, then Guarnoni went, and near the end Staring, leaving me in second place. I had a 1.5 second lead by then so I just had to concentrate on making no mistakes, which was not easy as there was no grip, and I had some big slides on the rear. It's a great confidence boost to get on the podium, and I'm looking forward to the last two races of the season". Last weekend Coghlan was in Russia at the Moscow Raceway to compete in another round of the Russian Superbike championship and he won the race after a battle for the lead with Marko Rohtlaan from Estonia.

Ducati Manchester Victorious at Round 1 848 Challenge at Brands Hatch

Wow - what a weekend that was at Brands Hatch for the opening round of the 848 Challenge.

Track conditions were difficult to say the least, and overall it was pretty, cold, wet, slippery and generally miserable conditions to go ride bikes in!!

Qualifying was interesting and we found we had a lot to do, to get on the pace with the front runners, but we learnt a lot, and made a raft of changes prior to Race 1. Following a bit of a balls up in Pit Lane, we ended starting from the back of the grid for Race 1. The first race was messy, and ended up being red flagged, and we finished P5 - which given the conditions we were pretty happy with.

The finishing place, put us on P8 Qualification for race two this afternoon. Again conditions were treacherous, with pretty much zero grip which varied around the indie circuit. We got a reasonable start making up a couple of places, and then there was a 4 bike pile up, resulting in P1-P4 crashing, and we seized the advantage.

We had a few "moments" where the back end tried to over take the front, but our rider - Robbie Brown managed to keep it shiny side up. We were passed in the next few laps by two riders, and in a banzai move on the last lap, we managed to retake the lead, and crossed the line to take the Chequered Flag in P1!!!

So all in all, a very successful weekend and a great start to the 848 Challenge Campaign.... we go in to second round leading the series with 31.5 points.

The latest must have Ducati Corse performance addition - Toffee Dodgers

On the grid for Race 2

Congratulations to all of the Team for all your hard work - brilliant ride - well done!!

DMC race team take delivery of 1199 Panigale for Worls Superstock 2012..

Ducati Manchester delivered our race bikes to Aragon, Spain on Friday night, and left our technicians working overnight to get the bikes un crated, and ready for track time on Saturday.... Initial tests of the bikes (in road trim) are very positive.... Our newly signed Moto 2 Rider Kev Coghlan commented " The bike handles really good, feels like a 600, nice and light. Obviously being a completely standard bike there were a few issues with the handling but even with some small changes to the damping we could get it working much better - really surprised at the bikes performance for a road bike".... Alexei Ivanov (also Moto 2 rider) said "I am amazed how the bike felt like a 600 and the performance of the bike, I am excited to get more track time"

Please keep following our twitter, Facebook and webiste for all information regarding Ducati Manchesters World Superstock 2012 information....
