Ducati Multistrada 1200 - Endless Transformations

The All new Ducati Multistrada 1200 will retail for £10,995 on the road.

The 150bhp GS rival was officially launched in all three of its 2010 guises at the EICMA Show in Milan last night.

And while prices haven’t been officially confirmed for the higher spec Multristrada 1200 S models, the S Touring and S Sport, Maccabbee said they would be in the region of £14K.

That means in its most basic form the Ducati Multistrada 1200 will be priced aggressively in comparison to its rivals.

The bike will be 150bhp, have DTC and ABS. Keep checking our website for full information. ORDERS NOW BEING TAKEN - CALL 0161 9739572....

“We’re very lucky to have loyal customers, and this will offer a compromise to anyone who kept a Ducati ST or one of the Multistrada 1100’s.

“And we feel this is a great time to release the bike in the UK as there are people who own GS’s but are ready to move on to something different.”

The Ducati Multistrada 1200 will be available to buy in the UK in the Spring with deliveries expected in late March early April time.

Ducati Hypermotard 796 - Preview in Milan

Ducati have given us a sneak preview of the new Ducati Hypermotard 796.

We expect to take delivery of the Ducati 796 in December 2009. Contact us for more details.

Ducati Hypermotard 796

Ducati releases the first images of the Hypermotard 796, in advance of the international EICMA motorcycle show, Milan.
The Hypermotard family will expand for 2010 with the addition of the exciting new Hypermotard 796. Just as aggressively striking as the 1100, the new Hypermotard 796 features a lower seat height and brand new smooth and flexible engine to make it the perfect urban assault vehicle. Whether it's working the daily commute or attacking the open roads, the 796 will ride the common ground between manners and madness by mixing Ducati’s unrivalled twin-cylinder power and sportbike heredity with the lightweight and minimalist supermotard concept.

The 796 weighs in at just 167kg (368lb), partly achieved by a lightweight engine, but also by continued chassis development that includes redesigned top and bottom fork clamps and an improved frame layout which eliminates almost all of the forged elements previously used with the 1100.

At 825mm (32.5in), the seat height of the 796 is a sure-footed 20mm (0.8in) lower than the 1100 and, when combined with the new engine’s smooth power delivery, this Hypermotard inspires confidence however and wherever its ridden.

The completely new Ducati 796 engine, which conforms to Euro 3 regulations, produces 81hp (59.6kW) of power and 55.7lb-ft (7.7kgm) of torque with the smooth and economic rideability expected from all Desmodue L-Twins.

The bike is equipped by an APTC ‘wet’ clutch to give a ‘slipper’ type action that prevents destabilization of the rear-end during aggressive down-shifting and also gives the extra benefit of a super-light feel at the lever, a great benefit in stop-start city traffic or during longer journeys.

The new 796 comes in an urban-style Dark finish with matte black tank and beak section, black frame and black wheels or, alternatively, matte white tank with contrasting matte black beak, black frame and black wheels. For the purists, an 1100 look-alike red tank with matching beak section, red frame and black wheels gives the 796 a traditional livery.

The Hypermotard is expected to arrive in UK Ducati Stores in December. The bike Matt colour versions have an SRP of £6,995 and the traditional Red version is £7,195 SRP.

Well the weather was dry for once this morning and we met up at the store for our regular monthly customer ride out. A good turnout and a mix of Ducatis met for breakfast at the Cafe next door to the store and then we set off for the Lake District to meet up with the survivors of the Ducati Owners Club Northern Rally.

We had a nice run up to the Lakes up the A6, shame it was so busy with traffic but we all got there unscathed - despite the best efforts of a girl in a Vauxhall Corsa in Preston trying to kill me!

Arrived just in time for lunch at the Pub - who had a hog roast in the beer garden! and settled down to cheer on Ducati at the MotoGP in Brno.

Excellent time was had by all and hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves.

Next rideout will be in September - route to be announced!. For more information about the rideouts - just ask Chris Booth for my number or send me a message via Ducatisti.co.uk.

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of month on the Dukes - remember they are there to be ridden and not just lovingly cosseted and polished!!!

'Til September

Arrivederci

Ciao Ciao

World's First Ducati Concept Store Opens in Manchester

Ducati UK are proud to announce the opening of the World's first new generation Store featuring the new Ducati corporate logo and design.

The new showroom located in Manchester on the A56 Washway Road in Sale is less than half a mile from junction 7 of the M60 and close to both the Trafford Centre and Manchester City centre.

Ducati Manchester's impressive new 5000 sq ft facility includes over 100ft of glass shop frontage echoing the cutting edge modern interior and style of the Store. The latest interior shows the Ducati range of motorcycles and clothing against a striking back-drop of brushed aluminium finished walls and powerful imagery.

The new Store layout perfectly presents the Ducati branding, where the many elements of passion, performance, technology and heritage are brought together through the combination of colour and structure that reflect the ethos of Ducati today.

Also seen for the first time as part of the new Store concept is the new Ducati logo which is the emblem of this evolution. A curve that crosses the logo is the emotion that becomes true on road and track. Symbolising victory and incorporating the Italian racing colour, with the classic Ducati script emblazoned above it. The Logo is also wrapped inside the shape of a heart, reflecting the emotion of the brand.

The combination of the main colour elements of Red, black, white and silver provide the perfect backdrop for the award winning Ducati model range as well as riding gear, leisure wear and Ducati Performance accessories.

Dealer principal Chris Booth is confident of the benefits of the new showroom design, “Our core business of selling bikes has increased year on year, but we have also become more conscious of the increasing demand for riding gear and leisure wear which has established itself as an important part of our business. The layout of the new Ducati Manchester allows us to display our apparel effectively whilst not distracting from the bikes.”

Customer service is an important part of the new Store with a dedicated service check- in and collection area where customers can be assured of a high quality service from specialist staff.

Customers can even view their motorcycle being cared for in a clinic styled race workshop from the service viewing area. A parts and accessories advisor is also on hand in the service area to guide customers on the best upgrade options to suit their motorcycle and their needs.

A customer social area is an important area where the client can relax after a ride, socialise with fellow Ducatisti, chat with store personnel in an informal environment or just sit and watch the latest race and Ducati news on the plasma screen, while of course enjoying some Italian coffee.

The customer's dream is to experience the Ducati brand in a bright, warm and welcoming environment which is thoroughly modern, where you can feel the quality and high technology of Ducati products in the ambient atmosphere.

Tim Maccabee, Ducati UK Managing Director comments, “Our aim is to deliver a premium experience to everyone who visits the showroom whether they buy a T-shirt or a new Ducati motorcycle, we want to welcome our loyal owners and first time buyers alike to experience something special when they come to us. I am really proud that the UK is the first country in the world to open a new generation Ducati Store and in particular it is great reward for the dedication which Ducati Manchester and their staff have shown over the last 7 years”.

Cristiano Silei, Ducati Motor Holding V.P. Sales, visited the Store a few days ago to personally see the final results and commented, “I'm very happy with the result we achieved for this first Store with our new retail identity. It is the first piece of an important project for the refreshment of our entire sales and service network. The final combination of new colours and materials really transfers the premium feeling of our brand and products, which was one of the main goals of this project. Compliments to Ducati Manchester for the cooperation they made in the Store design with the Ducati team”.
